Bramley Resident Zoe Sadler Completes 2010 Swimathon

swimathon_logo1 Between April 16th to April 18th 2010, the worlds biggest fundraising swim took place  at over 500 pools around the UK.

Swimathon provides motivation and a personal challenge to swimmers nationwide.  It also offers a goal to train for, a target to achieve and a great cause to support.

  • Over £32 million has been fundraised for various charities
  • ½ million swimmers have taken part

Bramley resident Zoe Sadler of Farriers Close, a 36 year old mother of two took part in this years challenge despite finding it personally demanding, and did so because of ‘the cause’.

Bramley Cricket Club – National Village Knockout – Match Report

National Village Knockout Round 2,
Bramley v Hursley Park @ Clift Meadow,
Bramley, 9th May 20010.

A grey, cold day saw both teams of XI assembled, eventually, ready to contest this David (Bramley) versus Goliath (Hursley Park) fixture.
Bramley won the toss and chose to bowl on a damp, green but firm pitch (thanks for the roller time Nigel).

Stead Jr. & Hutton started downhill & uphill respectively both bowling tidy lines and with good pace.
Hutton opened the Bramley wicket taking when the Hursley opener slapped him to backward point where he was well caught by Andy Davies. Wickets then fell with pleasing regularity as a result of some excellent bowling and fielding. Bramley Skipper, Andy Stead, took two wickets, including a good diving, yes that does say diving, caught & bowled. Chris Taylor veered between hitting the stumps, well bowled Chris, and not being able to hit the cut strip, don’t worry its early season!
