Bramley Cricket Club – Match Report

Centurion Mike helps break Bramley’s 2010 Duck!

Bramley Cricket ClubA bright and sunny June day saw the Stratfield Turgis and Bramley XI’s assembled on the beautifully re-laid  square at Stratfield Turgis.

The Bramley team contained the usual mix of old hands, newish members but more optimistically a new face in the shape of Darren Condick.

The toss was won by the home side who elected to bowl on the aforementioned refurbished pitch.

After the early loss of opener Allan Douglas, Bramley skipper, Andy Stead and ever more regular “Bramleyite” Mike Burt, set about rebuilding the innings. A little matter of 117 runs later Stead was well caught on the long on boundary for 63. Burt continued in style despite a succession of Bramley wickets falling at the other end before he too succumbed for a magnificent 103, joining a very select band of Bramley centurions.

May/June Issue – Call for Help!

There is a slight delay in the delivery of the 2010 May/June issue which was meant to be delivered over the weekend. Unfortunately, Scott ended up in hospital twice on Monday which meant he was unable to distribute this issue.
