The Bramley Community Choir is still singing enthusiastically on Tuesdays in the Village Hall at 7.30 pm.
In 2011 we learnt a varied repertoire, culminating in a successful concert in the Village Hall in July, after which a donation was sent to the Loddon School.
After the summer break, the choir re-grouped for a quick flirt with a medley of Oklahoma songs (to be re-visited in 2012), but then we got down to the business of learning some new carols. There are so many really beautiful Christmas songs with lovely harmonies, that it is no surprise that this is the favourite term for many members – we come away at the end of the evening feeling really uplifted.
Bramley Community Choir will be joining with the congregation at St. James’s Church, on Sunday 4th December at 4 pm to sing carols in the beautiful atmospheric surroundings. Everyone is most welcome to come along and get the Christmas season off to a feel-good start.
There is a second chance to get seasonally musical on Sunday 18th December at 4 pm in the Village Hall. Once again it will be a mixture of sing-along by everyone together, and the choir singing a few of the very special carols we are learning. It will be suitable for all ages with traditional carols and children’s favourites. Ticket prices are Adults: £5, Concessions and Children 5–16 years: £ 3. Children under 5 are free.
With mince pies and fairy cakes to refresh you, lights and decorations, you will be sure to leave feeling very Christmassy!!
Do you enjoy singing?
The Bramley choir is friendly and fun, and always keen to welcome new members. At the moment, we are a bit short of tenors and basses, so if you would like to help our gallant gentlemen, do come and give the choir a try.
Do you have a special local fund-raising cause?
It is always a bonus for the choir to be able to raise some funds at events and we are keen to give locally raised funds to a local cause.
In the past we have supported the Loddon School, and Evies Journey.
At the end of December we would like to choose a new cause to help in 2012.
